Basic & Advanced/Business Package Differences
Speed package and pricing have been
divided into separate categories – Basic and Advanced/Business -
for two main reasons:
Speed:
Internet usage for basic (usually residential)
needs can often be sufficiently met using the lowest DSL speeds. Keep in
mind that the lowest DSL speeds is up to 20 times as fast as the fastest
dial-up speeds. In more active environments, and for common business uses,
faster speeds will be necessary.
There’s also the download/upload
speed factor:
The download speed is the first number in the paired numbers that describe
each speed package. For example “786/128” means the download speed is 786k
and the upload speed is 128k. Internet usage is actually a two-way
communication “highway.” Your computer asks for data, but it also provides
data. Usually most “traffic” is "downloaded" to your computer and you "upload"
less frequently. In business environments (or anywhere more activity is
expected), generally, a faster speed is necessary,
as there is more activity more often. So too, for uploading - there will be
more uploading and thus the need for faster upload speed capability than
"basic" needs.
Package:
A KosherNet DSL package includes the ability to
set up individual sub-account settings, and getting email addresses. In the
basic packages one gets up to 5 individual user settings and 5
individual email accounts. Advanced/Business packages include up to 8 user settings and
8
email accounts. Additional email addresses or sub-accounts for any package,
are available, but would incur additional fees.
So, choosing a Basic package for a business or high-demand environment might appear
to save money, but will not appropriately serve your needs.
Alternatively, if you anticipate the
desire or need for faster speeds, or you plan to spend considerable time online
while at home, we suggest you choose an Advanced/Business package.
The Special Use category
contains packages that are designed for special business applications that
require the download and upload speed be identical.
